Fast Shark has showed up their on-going work with the FPV HD system for over a year now with their several beta test units. The finished product called ‘Shark Byte’ is their Digital HD Video System to compete with the market leader, DJI with their DJI Digital FPV System. The device can be connected in front of the existing Fat Shark goggles (HD3, HDO and HDO2).
Enjoy the freedom! No GPS flight reports to the manufacturer or tracking like with DJI. Compared to the DJI’s sharp image quality the Fat Shark offers more soft looking 720p image (less sharp). Compared to Analog systems the Fat Shark now offers Higher Definition. DJI with it’s hugely bigger bitrate (up to 50Mbit per second = 6.25 MByte per second) needs much better antennas and FOV without too many obstacles on the way. Fat Shark offers definition of 720p with full image (p for progressive aka full image) updating at 60 frames per second. Compared to DJI which offers resolution of 810 (non documented if Interlaced or Progressive) with image updating at 120 frames per second. One the Fat Shark’s benefits is that it offers HD image with almost no input lag (near no delay on the image).
After struggling with overheating units Fat Shark has solved the problems and the Products will be available from official Fat Shark retailers.
